Abstract

Anarchici e sindacalisti: conflitto interno alla CNT e ruolo di Joan Peirò (1927-1936)

In 1931 the anarcho-syndicalist Joan Peirò (whose biography by the same Author has been published in “Spagna contemporanea” n. 15) strongly conflicted with the most radical wing of the Spanish anarchist movement, represented by Federación Anarquista Ibérica (FAI), created in 1927 and very insurrectionprone against the republican and socialist reformism of the bienio progresista, decidedly in favour of the moderate unions. The Confederación Nacional del Trabajo wing more inclined to the traditional trade-unionism was marginalized by the most radical faístas militants, and even Peiró had to resign his executive charges. He took part in the Opposition Unions foundation, rather strong in Catalonia and the Levant, which later on, at the May 1936 CNT’s Congress, came back into the anarcho-syndicalist organization.
